News: Tragically Hick named "bluegrass band of the year" in Mountainview County !!

  Did anyone tell you that we're the only bluegrass band in Mountainview County??

Darren Randles sent us the following email note following a recent "gig" - a private 50th birthday party event - we really appreciate his taking time to provide such kind "words" for our efforts:

 We hired Tragically Hick to play for my Brother’s 50th Birthday. Four days before the event, I received a call from Gordon explaining that he had broken his arm.

A tough break ( pun not intended) for Gordon and a serious blow to the party plans as well. I was in shock. The entertainment piece of this celebration was a huge component of the party.

Gordon was very apologetic. He told me he would make some calls and try to find either a replacement member or a replacement group for me.

Gordon took this task on as his own without request or request for compensation. This shows the level of professionalism and caring that became even more obvious with further dealings with the band.

Many stressful phone calls later, and with only 2 days before the event, Gordon advised me that he was now searching province wide to come up with some entertainment. But due to the lack of time and with it being in peak season for events and summer holidays, it was not looking real promising.

Many more phone calls and voice messages occurred throughout the next two days. I received a phone call on the afternoon before the event with the good news that a substitute member was located and that they would be playing as scheduled.

I was elated , as was my mother and many other family members. We would like to recognize and thank Tragically Hick for not only their level of professionalism under uncontrollable circumstances but also for the tireless and relentless searching to ensure that this birthday was a success. We would also like to add that the musicality and personalization of the entire “performance” was incredible.
